Here are some tips for encouraging your clients to fill out your Perspectives Surveys.
Note: You know your clients the best! If you want them to complete the survey, think about calls to action that lead them to you and brainstorm from there!
Client mindset - your clients are likely trying to please you at some level. They don't want to show you (aka themselves) if they've not gotten the result that they wanted. So try to get answers as kindly and as compassionately as you can.
- Pitch the survey - Talk about the survey live or send a Loom/Vimeo!
“Hey, this is just information to make my coaching program better and to serve you better! The survey means nothing about what I'll think of you or our relationship. Whatever your answers are, it is just a pathfinder for us to get you to help grow more, and really from the get go saying that it's important.”
- Help them see the value to you - Tell them that their answers really, really helps you be a better coach by learning about your program and how you can grow and develop it.
Recruit for it
- Ask live – Ask the questions on a coaching call! can do 1:1 or can do on the group call and jot down their answers from the chat!
- One at a time - Don't ask all the questions all at once! You could ask the client your number one, most important question on the coaching call. By doing that you can ask questions in a stair step fashion. Then you can input their answers into a template survey for that client. bit by bit!
Incentives
- Give them extra private content - open up a new module if they complete the survey
- Give an extra coaching session for a complete survey
- Give swag they like already
- Donate to a charity on their behalf - In one program, the clients had really high net incomes, so they didn't necessarily want money to fill out the surveys, but they loved the idea of donating to charity! We set it up so if they filled out the survey, the program would donate a certain amount of money to one of three charities! win for the world!
- Host a local event! Are your clients regional? Or do you have a live event? Host a happy hour for those who are in the study and the “cost” of entry is collecting the survey at the front door. Remember. This is high value for your biz, so spend money to make money
- Get crazy!
Keep trying
- Give them the survey a bazillion times. repetition wins. Do it as your email, do it as part of your packaging materials, and in written coaching, over text messages (there are apps for that). whatever you can think of!
Happy surveying!
Remember, if you get more surveys you have more power to learn from the results and share them with the world!! it is worth the focus and push!

Mia
